Art history.  The Parthenon was an amazing architectural achievement in the Classical Greek world. Using the Parthenon as your guide, what other temples or monuments from the Greek and Roman world would you compare it to?

The Written Word a. The Parthenon was an amazing architectural achievement in the Classical Greek world. Using the Parthenon as your guide, what other temples or monuments from the Greek and Roman world would you compare it to? What buildings did it influence and how can you tell? Some things to think about in regards to how to approach your paper: i. Think of how they may have evolved over time, especially their function or decoration. ii. Do you want to mention precursors to the Parthenon as well as buildings that came later to show development of architectural techniques or styles?

iii. What evidence of influences from one culture to the other, i.e. from Greek to Roman, can you see and how can you tell in the examples you chose? iv. Are there any other sources of influences that apply as well? b. With the Parthenon counting as one of your in-class examples, your additional buildings (1 seen in class and at least 3 we have not seen in class) will you choose? Your discussion can be a minimum of 3 pages but must not exceed 5 pages. c. All images must be placed in a separate Illustration or Figure section and properly identified in the text.

They must also appear (and be labelled!) in the same order as they appear in your text. a. Any papers with images located within the text body is an automatic grade reduction for incorrect formatting. d. Make sure to properly cite your sources with in-text parenthetical citations and a works cited page at the end e.
