Despite the environment he had grown up in, Enkidu was changed by love tremendously. The theme broadens when Enkidu dies and Gilgamesh grieves immensely. Gilgamesh, who was once a bully, changes due to love and is able to reconnect with his people at a deeper level. The love portrayed by these two characters is so great that it changes them and helps them gain the personalities they once lacked. Several times throughout the “Epic of Gilgamesh,” death is evident and what intensifies it is the fear that it embeds within Gilgamesh.
