Your analysis should take the form of a 2,000 word essay, with a concise introduction, body and conclusion. Choose a topic from the list of questions. The Research Essay requires you to examine a topic in more detail, drawing on research beyond the set readings. You must consult a minimum of 8 academic sources in addition to relevant weekly set readings. A useful place to start hunting for research materials are the lists of additional readings in the subject outline and weekly Modules on the LMS, in the lecture slides, and in the references cited in the questions themselves. NB. You are not permitted to write on the same topic as your first essay or cover the same research territory.
