Supportive positive social relationships and community connections, can help reduce the effects of risk factors in people’s lives (Suicide Prevention Center, 2020). Talking about challenges in a group setting allows for support, reducing the likelihood of committing suicide.

1. HELPING LGBTQ+ PATIENTS and FAMILIES CREATE A COMMUNITY as an INTERVENTION is one of the best ways to help people cope. Thoughts and feelings of “being alone” are a significant trigger in self harm behaviors. SOCAIL GROUPS will allow every member to share their issues instead of facing them independently, which can foster negative self-talk, loneliness and stigma. The proposed intervention will help transgender people solve their issues instead of looking for alternatives to end their pain. The intervention offers long term benefit and can become a lifelong space. This intervention creates community with others facing similar issues.

As seen in many aspects of society, social groups and organizations provide connectedness. Connectedness and feeling a part of group is vital to mental health. According to Haas et al. (2010), This is particularly important in a very marginalized minority group such as transgendered persons. Healthcare professionals can play a vital role in assisting patients and families by providing information or linkage to support. 2. Also, CONSIDERATION OF POSSIBLE IMPLICATIONS of this intervention would be prudent to consider as a healthcare provider. Implications may include, inconsistent or disorganized groups.
